Whenever I’m getting ready to shoot a beach wedding, WindGuru is consulted on a daily basis in the lead up to the big day. This was no exception and the forecast was sunshine, but with unseasonal wind. Steph and Malena had already been married in Argentina so this day was a blessing celebration with local family and friends. There were some delays as family coming from Argentina had been held up with flight delays. As a photographer I was stressing about shooting in the midday sun, but all worked out well, despite the wind trying to blow the couple away. This was without a doubt, the most child-friendly wedding I have ever had the privilege of attending. Sandpits, croquet, sweets for Africa and a caravan full of Freddo ice-cream! And it wasn’t only the kids going back for more. After the beach ceremony, everybody retreated to the glade in the forest which offered some respite from the wind and plenty of time to socialise. Jex Estate is a beautiful venue with both the beach and the forest glade in close proximity to one another. It would be remiss of me not to comment on the catering – the food was exceptional as the waitrons kept returning with trays of delicious snacks for the eager guests.
Steph and Malena, it was a pleasure to be part of your celebrations and we wish you all the very best in the future
