Mitchell & Beyanca

Firstly Happy Birthday to me for today hahaha!  For all those aspiring photographers who think weddings are easy let me give you the run down of the day:  4am up and off to the airport to catch the first flight out,  arrive at OR Tambo during a thunderstorm first thing in the morning (not feeling so positive about the day ahead), off to the family for a few hours before going to the wedding, travel to Sandton during the second thunderstorm, meet Mitchell and Beyanca for the first time (everyone a bit apprehensive but get along instantly), photograph the preparations and then off to service during third thunderstorm, start shooting the photoshoot only to be interrupted by fourth thunderstorm and end up dashing inside, wait out rain and then out again to finish off the rest of the shoot, groups and family and then full reception, off home and in bed by 12:30am only to wake up at 5am to catch plain home.  Wow isn’t it all so glamorous and easy.

It is never ideal meeting the couple on the day for the first time but I need not have stressed as I realized after 5 minutes that Mitchell and Beyanca are the easy going, lovable clients that I usually attract.  As I said above the Gauteng weather is whacky but the good thing is that it builds up for a long time but passes over quickly.  The day went very smoothly and I have to admit Beyanca and Mitchell were very calm and did not get phased by the weather at all.  They both gave such beautiful and honest speeches during the reception which was the icing on the cake for me after a very unique and special day.

My "Where's Wally" shot. Spot the camerman.

A unique bouquet.

Bayanca on her way to the Limo, I thought I could hide in the shadows and get some natural moments without being noticed.

Some fun moments with everbody trying to fit into the Limo including a giant dress.

I was trying to get some moody shots during the service by not using the flash and just the light coming from the videographer. I think it worked out perfectly.

This was funny. It felt like I was placing everyone in a studio with a giant white backdrop.

That storm and rainbow are real, they were just ordered and arrived on tap. I wish.

You would never have guessed that a hectic storm had just passed over a few minutes ago.

"Hey Beyanca are you sure there are no metal conductors in this dress?"

I love the photo on the right as it shows off the dramatic sky and Beyanca perfectly.

Yep, that giant studio backdrop again. I could not resist this show though and just used the available light. Very cool photo.

Some friends.

Some lovely intimate moments between Mitchell & Beyanca.

The Indaba Hotal in Sandton is a beautiful venue and did a fine job.

Josey and Julie were a pleasure to work with and very easy going, well done guys.

Thanks to Europcar for getting me around the busy roads of Gauteng.
