Unfortunately the week ran away from Dan and Joy and we could not meet up for the final briefing but once they arrived and we got started everyone relaxed and got into the swing of things. Dan was a bit nervous before the service whereas Joy seemed to just be enjoying each moment as it happened. The weather had changed and had turned out to be a hot sunny day which probably worked out for the better with the wedding starting over two hours later than planned otherwise everyone would have been frying in the sun. I did start to get worried when the service went on for a bit and I could see some rain clouds coming closer and closer but it held out until we had finished the photoshoot and had entered the reception venue. We all enjoyed the game drive and photoshoot and I have to admit I enjoyed Dan and Joy’s excitement and adventurous nature. The reception hall was decorated beautifully and Di and her team at Tala did a superb job the entire day/evening with everyone seeming to enjoy themselves especially the food (ok that was mostly me but who could not enjoy that delicious spread). I think there were about eighteen different speakers but thankfully most of them were quite short and to the point. It is nice to see so many family members speaking and welcoming their newest son/daughter into their family. Dan gave a very moving speech which was quite something to see as it is very seldom that you see that and what was even more amazing was the support that he got from the friends and family to help him through it. Dan and Joy loved their day and I am so glad to have had the privilege to share it with them.
