Ahmed & Zuhayra

Wet and windy weather couldn’t dampen the love and happiness shared by this couple on Saturday. It’s the kind of weather that every couple and their photographer dreads, but the glow from Zuhayra and Ahmed brightened the day in their own special way. It was a small and intimate ceremony at the Mosque followed by a celebratory dinner for family at The Oyster Box. The weather put pay to any chance of a shoot outside but, like kids in a candy store, Ahmed and Zuhayra explored the beautiful Oyster Box Hotel and found plenty of wonderful settings to get some creative shots done. You guys are so much fun and are wonderful together. It’s one of the privileges of shooting weddings; I always walk away rejuvenated and with greater faith in the love people have for one another.  I was made to feel so welcome that I had to keep reminding myself that I was supposed to be working and a special mention must go to Ismael, Ahmed’s dad. What a character!!

Ahmed and Zuhayra/Emma, it was a pleasure to be your photographer and I wish you all the happiness for your future together.

  10. Thanks Mike for your wonderful work and putting up with our antics on the day, and thanks to all our wonderful friends for their wishes!!! :)

Something I’ve written about the day:

It was cold and gloom day but my wife was still a radiant sight…
Her beauty had fiercely challenged the rain and wind defiant with all their might…

The love and beauty in her eyes was something to behold triumphing over the natural order…
She gave her soul and shared her being until she’d reached her hearts border…

There I found her beauty, breathtaking, filled with warmth with smiles that made me weak at the knees…
We toyed and played, shared and loved all through the night for the cameras whilst saying cheese…

All I could think off whilst holding her was that for the woman I have this is not as grand…
Since here is a woman worthy of kings and beside me she stands…

I now see how the world should revolve around my wife and suddenly it is all so clear…
In her eyes I see our unborn children and I fight to resist a tear…

The night has drawn to an end and I leave with my wife feeling as though I’m complete…
Finding my other half has been a long journey and believe me it was no easy feat…

Her beauty, spirit and the sparkle in her eyes I realise is mine to preserve…
And if its the last thing I ever do, I’ll do it without reserve!!

    Ahmed
