City Life

This morning Kierran and I thought we would try capture some of the early morning happenings in Durban and get a feel of the hustle and bustle of the city.  It was fascinating watching the taxis drop off and entice passengers at the busy intersections.  Everyone shouting a different destination and “coaxing” the clients to their magic ride.  Another interesting scene was the vendors arriving with their trolleys overloaded and setting up for the day.  Some of them had more on their trolley than what a bakkie could carry but they still moved along at a fast pace eager to get setup their stand ready to sell their goods.  Here are a few common and uncommon sites that you may have seen:

A vendor off to setup “shop”.

The ABSA building.

I had some ideas before hand to try get some different angles of some buildings and it is surprising what you can find.

A very popular fruit stand.

Amazing what you can fit on a single trolley.

A lot of interesting features to this pic, even the pigeon in the corner.

Kierran loves his HDR.

My favourite. A few friends chatting on a park bench.

A conductor “coaxing” some potential clients who don’t seem to be impressed.

A typical early morning city scene.

  1. Hi Wade & Kierran,
Looks like you had some fun capturing these pics. I love the series of the 3 chums chatting on the park bench and the old man waiting for his lift sitting on the dustbin…. looks like he should have retired years ago. Keep having fun

  2. Very cool! Looks like you had real fun.
